Issue #32 - The Future

1. The Future

==================================================

Dear Friends,

Recently, I've been asked what purpose my website serves, besides
providing stock tips.

As I see it, the purpose of Investing With Mom is to be an advocate
for the small investor.

Nobody else really fulfills that role and that's a shame. Oh sure I
can provide the monthly stock recommendation, but if that's it, then
there are dozens of sites that can do that for you.

No, the difference is that once you have subscribed to Investing With
Mom, you've shown the world that there is a need for just such an
advocate.

Who else can say that about themselves?

Wall St.? They're nothing but the biggest legalized casino that has
ever existed.

The SEC? They can't do anything unless you have a complaint, and even
then they're not much more than a slow moving bureaucracy.

The mutual funds? They're the fox that's guarding the henhouse. 80%
can't beat their benchmarks and yet they charge you a couple of
percent for the privilege of being overly diversified and going
nowhere.

There are a few clubs, societies and associations but most of them
only cater to you if you already have a large portfolio.

What about the rest of us?

Our only real choice is to band together and provide each other the
support necessary to build our portfolios. In other words, it's not
just about the good stock tips you may get, or about protecting your
principle by utilizing lower cost brokerages.

It's about investing in such a way that even your mom would want to be
a part of it.

Some might think of it as socially conscious investing or ethical
investing, but its more than that even though that plays a part.

Recently, I've looked into the possibility of venture capital and/or
angel funding due to the expense of running this site by myself. The
problem is they all want a piece of the business, preferably a
controlling piece.

You would too, if you were in their position, but we all know that
they won't share the same vision that you and I will.

And that's when it dawned on me, without you there is no Investing
With Mom. This is venture capital in its purest form.

When you subscribe, you're saying that you believe that someone, in
this case me, can be an advocate and provide you with a voice.

A voice that demands equal treatment with the larger more powerful
investment interest groups.

A voice that refuses to be overlooked.

A voice that refuses to be silenced.

Today, with your help, we will begin the process of transforming
Investing With Mom into the advocacy vehicle for the small investor.

The first step is nearly complete, a new corporate identity is being
defined and will be unveiled as soon as possible.

Once the new brand identity has been established, the second phase
will begin. This will entail a complete overhaul of the entire
website, hopefully to be completed by the first anniversary of
Investing With Mom's launch, Saturday, June 11th, 2005.

After the website is relaunched there will be 2 additional steps that
must be fulfilled in order to complete the transformation, however
without your participation it won't happen, no matter what. Because
this is where you become the purest form of venture capitalist.

The first of these 2 additional aspects to the transformation will be
the creation of an Investment Club. Only accessible by those who are
participating by subscribing to Investing With Mom's Advisory
Newsletter.

This Investment Club, will invest in the same stocks that are
recommeded in the Advisory Newsletter, with some additional
opportunities added to the mix.

While this Investment Club has yet to be formalized, you will be
limited in your total allowable investment, so that all of the
participants are truly small investors operating on an equal level. It
is envisioned that a share in the club will be around $40 and that
each club member will be limited to 100 shares. However, there will be
no management fees or any additional costs above the actual costs of
placing the trades in the first place.

Of course all this has yet to be formally codified into the Investment
Club's Charter, once that has occurred, the Club will be launched.

The second additional aspect of the transformation will be the
development of the Reality Equity Analysis & Brokerage Firm.

At first, Reality will be an equity analysis firm unlike any that Wall
St. has ever seen up until this point. Instead of accepting accounts,
Reality will provide earnings estimates and reality based analysis of
select stocks.

The goal of the firm will be to achieve reality by publishing earnings
estimates that are closer to the actual earnings the companies are
achieving that the rest of Wall St.'s analysts can provide. Reality's
analysis will be based upon a process John Mauldin presents in his
book 'Bull's Eye Investing - Targeting Real Returns in a Smoke and
Mirrors Market'
.

Eventually Reality will become a full service brokerage, even offering
investment accounts for small investors, but that is much further down
the road.

In the meanwhile thanks to your participation, your subscription to
Investing With Mom will allow this transformation to take place,
because you will be the enabling venture capitalists.

You will be hiring the secretaries.

You will be hiring the analysts.

You will be paying for the webmaster's expertise.

Last but definitely not least, you will benefit from the development
of all the services that Investing With Mom will be able to offer you.

After all who else will provide the best opportunities for small
investors in one location that is organized and maintained for ease of
access and who else will be your advocate?

Wall St.? The SEC? The mutual funds? The government?

I don't think so, do you?

That more than any stock recommendation, is why you should subscribe
to Investing With Mom.

Until next time,

Investments good for my mom and you,
Andy Prior
